Greetings all!
We just had our first meeting! For those of you who missed it, we had a great attendance and got the semester off to a great start. Here is a quick run down of what we covered.
Become a National Member
If you would like to sign up to become a member, click here.
On the left side of your screen you will see a yellow button that says, "JOIN". Simply click on it and follow the instructions. Be sure to register under the Oklahoma City chapter as a collegiate with the University of Central Oklahoma (you will have to type this in under "other"). The fee is just $20 a year and will connect you with the greater SWE network and you'll receive benefits and have fantastic opportunities such as. . .
Conference!!!
The National SWE Conference is coming up fast!!! The dates are October 27-29 in Philadelphia, PA. This consists of the National SWE meeting, key speakers, and a career fair with company from around the U.S. The current price is $90 (for national members only) but it will be going up soon, so please email us ASAP if you are interested in going! T-Shirts
Yes! We will be selling t-shirts this semester, but we need YOUR HELP!! Please submit your t-shirt design ideas to us no later than September 20th!! Please remember that these will be sold to all types of engineering majors as well as some other STEM major students/faculty so consider that in your design. We're excited to see your submissions!
Career Fair
Just a reminder that UCO is having their career fair on September 21st. Be sure to attend!

Officer Elections
~OFFICER ELECTIONS~
We will be holding officer elections starting Tuesday, March 29th for the 2016-2017 school year!! Attached is a list of the positions available to run for and their descriptions. If you want to run for a position please send an email to pmorgan6@uco.edu with your name, a photo, the position and a short bio (2-3 sentences) NLT Monday, March 28th. I will then post the list of people running and a link to the online ballot!

1. Must be a student at UCO for the 2016-2017 school year
2. Must have been involved in some way with UCO SWE during the 2015-2016 school year

March Update
Hello everyone! We have quite a few events coming up!
Our next meeting will be Friday, March 25th at 4:00pm in HOH room 100.
We will be voting for next year's officers so don't miss this important meeting! The officer positions are:

On Wednesday, March 9th at noon, Student Support Services is hosting a talk by about summer internships and careers in engineering and software design. Lunch will be provided by Enviro Systems and you will have the chance to meet their president, CEO as well as others from their company. It will be held in the Quad, room W111.
You must R.S.V.P. to Melissa Crouch at 405-974-3684 or mcrouch5@uco.edu.
On Thursday, March 24th SWE OKC will be working with OKC 1st Robotics and they need volunteers! This is an excellent opportunity to get connected with our professional SWE partners and inspire and encourage up and coming STEM majors! Contact us at sweatuco@gmail.com if you're interested in going!

1/29/16 Meeting Minutes
Hello everyone!

Currently, we are connected to the Oklahoma City chapter of SWE, but we are hoping to change that very soon as we now have an official SWE sponsor!

Lunch Bar!
As always, our Sandwich Bar every Wednesday is the biggest way we fundraise every semester.We had a lot of people sign up to volunteer and donate (thank you everyone!!!), but we are still needing donations for meat, sides, and dessert. If you are interested in helping please email sweatuco@gmail.com.
T-Shirts
Our t-shirt/hoodie design last fall was a big hit and we are planning on selling v-neck t-shirts of the same design soon! They will be $15.
Resume Workshop
The next UCO career fair is coming up soon, so we are planning on having a workshop in the next few weeks to get everyone ready to put their best foot, er, resume forward!

SPRING 2016 UPDATES

Hope you had a nice loooong winter break. Alas, its back to work being awesome! The first SWE Bar of Spring 2016 will be this Wednesday Jan. 20th. We would really appreciate if you guys could donate a few things such as:

January Meeting - Wineology 101
Join SWE OKC for the January Meeting to learn about the wine making and bottling process. This event will include learning the process from grape to glass and bottling your own bottle of fruit wine. What better way to learn about wine than with SWE and tasting a glass of wine?* This experience will be held at Waters Edge Winery and will be discounted to $12 for members, $22 for members and one guest, and $16 for nonmembers.
Everyone will leave with knowledge of wine making and a bottle of fruit wine.
